Buddy scrub: your friend with benefits

Hi everyone!

Hope you are enjoying your weekend so far. To celebrate two days off from work, I have decided to treat myself with a very special product from Australia called Buddy Scrub. You can choose from three different options: raw cacao, green tea and charcoal. I decided to buy the first two in order to find out what benefits they could have on my skin.

Since I was a kid I’ve always had dermatological issues. I suffer from atopic dermatitis (eczema), a type of inflammation of the skin which involved having dry, itchy, red, swollen and cracked skin. Moreover, those who go through this tend to scratch so much that they can end up with other skin problems. Luckily, I’ve got better as I’ve got older but I still get it quite bad in my hands and arms, especially under extreme temperatures.

One of the reasons why I like this product is the fact that it is made with vegan ingredients and has no harsh chemicals. They recommend customers to test it first on a patch of skin and to check that they don’t have any allergies to their ingredients. Each bag contains 200 grams. The packaging is extremely cute and funny! Once it’s open it can last up to six months. It is also important that you don’t get any water inside the bag so they recommend that you keep it in a dry, cool place.

When you rip off the top of the cacao flavoured scrub, you are hit with this astonishing smell. It’s like smelling a big chocolate cake! The Raw Cacao scrub contains coconut oil (which reduces the appearance of wrinkles, sagging and clears away the dead skin cells), sweet almond oil, rich in vitamin E and reduces the appearance of acne and blemishes and grape seed oil with antiseptic qualities that helps to keep your skin glowing and moisturised. They do warn you not to eat it, even though it seems quite tempting!

The Green Tea scrub has a very calming aroma. Like the Raw Cacao, it also contains sea salt, sugar, coconut oil and grape seed oil. However, this also has jojoba oil which restores the natural oil balance of your skin. It is also rich in vitamins A, D and E, Omega 6 and 9 fatty acids.

The Raw Cacao and the Charcoal scrubs cost $15.95 or you can purchase the Green Tea scrub for $14.95. I got mine from TK Maxx in the UK, although there weren’t many on display. Sadly, at the moment they only seem to sell these products online in Australia and in the USA. However, they do international deliveries and accept Paypal payments, which I think is great! I calculated the delivery charges to the UK and they cost $11.90 AUD (around £6.13). I think I’m definitely going to order more!

I’m following their Twitter account from @researchb4spend, in case you want to find them. These scrubs are lovely so I encourage you to give them a go. I promise you won’t be disappointed!
